Yay, me!
I am pleased to report that I have downgraded from "obese" to merely "overweight." I'm sure this must cut health risks of X by Y percent, but I don't know the details.
I didn't really feel badly in the first place. I was always an exerciser, so I never experienced the "bull-in-a-china-shop" feeling I've heard others describe. I never got clumsy or winded.
I have noticed that a few yoga poses are a little easier. It doesn't take as much effort, for example, to prop myself up on one arm during side plank. I can jump around more in Nia class. These are subtle changes, though.
I believe I'm not having as big an afternoon energy crash, but I'm also not at a job where I'm depressed and demoralized. It's hard to pick apart.
I'm really losing weight preventatively: I was feeling fine, but I didn't want to reach a point where I wasn't.
Well, and probably even more important, you're figuring out how to eat in ways that are enjoyable, and mindful, and healthy for both the long and short term. I think it's sort of fascinating how we experience our bodies . . .
You know what I do notice? My face is more defined. My cheekbones are restored to their haute prominence. ;)
On two separate, recent occasions, I had dinner with a friend whom I'd not seen in a while. Both friends complimented me on my hair--Are you doing something new with it? Both days, I thought, my hair looked awful. I conjecture that they were really responding to my thinner face.

More important: how do you feel about your body? Do you notice the difference? Does it feel better? Or do you notice it mostly on the scale?
In any case, yay you for finding a method of eating that works for you!
